Bright Club Edinburgh 17.0 eMpiRiC
empiric [ɛmˈpɪrɪk]
noun.
1 (Medicine) a medical quack
2 (Comedy) an excellent night out on Tuesday 25th July at the Stand, Edinburgh
What better way to celebrate 100 years of life changing work by the medical research council, than getting a bunch of actual researchers to do a stand-up comedy show about that sort of thing?
Richard Sharpe - Morning Glory
Greg Armstrong - Womb for Improvement
Robert Gray - Fifty Shades of Gray
Jon Mooney - Hazardous Waists
Andy MacLeod - The C Word
Lynsey Hall - Warning! May Contain Nuts
With MC Susan Morrison
And Simon Watt from Channel 4’s "Inside Nature’s Giants"
We have no actual evidence to support the view that laughter is the best medicine, but we do know how to stimulate your funny bone.
Once again, we present the rarest jokes in the business - so come and laugh along as interesting, funny people share gags and silliness about what they know best – their own work.

Bright Club: Scotland's Fringe
In a moment of madness we decided to do a proper Fringe run this year. Find us at The Assembly Rooms.
There are nearly 90 performers in all so every show will be different. We will also be back with the BBC@Potterrow for a one off.
We’re straight from the research field to the Fringe! Bright Club is the freshest thing in stand-up – an academic comedy cocktail synthesised for your entertainment and enlightenment. Our unique twist of pun-fact variety show blends comedy and research with diverse subjects ranging from Art to Zoology. We present the rarest jokes in the business so come and laugh along as interesting, funny people share gags and silliness about what they know best – their own work. ‘Authoritatively original and brilliantly entertaining [citation needed].’

Happy 2013
In 2013 we're going to step things up a gear - taking Bright Club performers on tour and taking on the Fringe properly. We'll also be doing our regular shows too of course.
If you’re a budding comedian, looking for a new public engagement opportunity, want to make your life more interesting, or just like the sound of your own voice then fill in this short form so we can inform you of show openings and training workshops as soon as they come up.
Our next show is #13.0 on 29th January and there is still time to sign up for that.
